It seems like nowadays anyone and everyone has a podcast, and if they don’t have one, they can start one with a few clicks and a digital recording device. It is true that starting a podcast is easy these days, but getting and keeping the audience, that is where the difficult part lies. How hard it is to start or grow something should never be a deterrent in anything you do as long as you are passionate about the process or the goal that you are trying to achieve. If you feel like you have a face for radio, you have something important to share, you are funny (or you think you are funny) or you are an expert on a topic that needs to be discussed, then maybe podcasting is something that you should go after.  The demand is definitely there.  For example, according to an article by Fast Company here are some podcast growth numbers from 2014-218

“In 2014, there were 7 billion podcast downloads.

In 2016, that number jumped to 10.5 billion.

In 2017, it jumped to 13.7 billion episode downloads and streams, across Podcasts and iTunes.

In March 2018, Apple Podcasts passed 50 billion all-time episode downloads and streams.”

Fast Company

The numbers are there and the fan base is not going anywhere. If you look at any statistics about podcasts in the last 5-7 years, the line continues to go up in a very consistent diagonal line to the right, year after year. That is one example and we can go on with many more,  but we all know we aren’t here to only talk about podcasts. If you know why we are here then shhh, don’t give away the ending.

Let’s say you do start your podcast, what do you do next? Well, once you or your team start to record your podcast, you can start telling your fans (or potential fans) about your new podcast through various social media channels. Where do you tell people to go to see all the info about the show or where they can listen to it, what platforms you are on, what updates you might have or news you need to share, what products you have to sell? You guessed it!  A WEBSITE. Your website will be the online home base for all of your podcast outlets, social media links, news, episode archives, merch store, resources, info about who you are and what you are doing, as well as many other features you might want to add. Yes, we sometimes talk about this topic at nauseam, but we feel like its still very important since so many people overlook the topic.  In this case, we made Washington, a template that is geared towards this growing niche. That said, this design can be applied to a YouTube show, radio show, TV show, etc. In general, our designs are all very flexible, in the sense that they can be applied to many varying industries if you like the design.  Or vice versa, you can take a totally different design that we have and apply it towards your podcast. This is just an example and if you need help with picking a design for your needs please don’t hesitate to contact us.
